Your Braun Silk-épil epilator may flash for a number of more or less normal reasons. In most cases, blinking simply indicates a state the device is in or a task it is performing. However, if abnormal flashing appears, then the problem may be a malfunction on the device. In this case, solutions can allow you to fix it on your own. Without further ado, discover in this article, why is your Braun Silk-épil epilator flashing? And what to do in case of malfunction?
What does the blinking of the Braun Silk-épil epilator mean?
In the majority of cases, the blinking of your Silk-épil epilator indicates the battery status and therefore the percentage of load in which it is located:
Silk-épil epilator flashes red
When the charging indicator flashes red during your use, it means that the Silk-épil epilator has run out of battery. You must then plug the device into an electrical outlet to charge it. A 15-minute quick charge allows it to be used again for 10 minutes. If you no longer use it, charge it fully (about 1 hour) before storing it. In fact, in the event of a deep discharge, this can damage the battery irreversibly.
Remember that the battery continues to discharge, even when not in use! That's why it's best to do a quick recharge before using it so that the battery is completely full and you can enjoy all its autonomy.
Note: On some epilator models Silk-épil, the indicator may flash orange or yellow. This also means that the battery needs to be recharged.
Braun Silk-épil epilator flashing green
When your Braun epilator is plugged in and the charging indicator flashes green, it simply means thathe is charging. You just have to leave it plugged in for a full charge. When the Braun epilator is fully charged, the light stays on. Fully charged, the device has an autonomy of between 40 minutes and 50 minutes. Note, however, that battery life may be reduced if you do not respect the recommended charging and storage temperatures (charge the device in a room where the temperatures are between 15°C and 35°C); and if you use it underwater.
Note: On some models of Silk-épil epilators, the indicator flashes white when charging.
Braun Silk-épil flashes white and red
If the SensoSmart light on your Braun Silk-épil flashes red and white for about ten seconds, you have just activated or deactivated SensoSmart technology. This technology lets you know if you are applying too much pressure to the tip while epilating. In this case, the light turns red. To turn this feature on or off, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the white and red flashes stop.
What to do if your Braun Silk-épil flashes abnormally?

If your Braun Silk-épil epilator blinks abnormally, that is to say from start-up or continuously despite a full charge, this is a sign of a hardware malfunction. Two distinct failures exist in this case:
• If you put your epilator on long charge (ie 1 hour) and the charge light was fixed to indicate that it was fully charged, it should have a battery life of 40 minutes. In case this battery life is reduced and your Silk-épil epilator is constantly flashing red, for no apparent reason, well before the 40 minutes of autonomy are reached, then the battery or the motor unit is probably faulty. In this case, we invite you to read the solutions to try to solve this problem in the article dealing with this problem: Braun epilator no longer holding a charge, what to do?
• If when you put the epilator on charge, the green flashing does not appear, on the contrary that it never stops flashing or that it flashes much too long, then there is a problem in the charging cycle. It may then concern the charging accessory (cradle or charger), the battery or the motor unit.
