How do I reset the Orange remote?

Are you having a problem with your Orange remote control? It no longer works, recurring bugs prevent you from using it correctly or it refuses to pair? Currently, only one remote control is marketed by the operator Orange. it's about the Orange TV UHD remote control. This remote control is therefore compatible with the three decoders distributed by the operator: the 4K UHD TV decoder, UHD TV decoder and TV decoder 4.

Reset the Orange remote control of the UHD TV decoder

For reset an Orange remote control to the UHD TV or 4k UHD TV decoder, Here is the procedure to follow :

  1. On the back of the remote control, press the small button with a pointed object open the battery compartment.
  2. Remove the batteries on the remote control.
  3. Press several times and for about ten seconds on any button on the remote control.
  4. Replace the batteries.
  5. 5 seconds after you put in the first battery, you should see the orange light on the remote control blink 2 times. If not, then try replacing the old batteries with new ones. new CR2032 batteries.

If the Orange remote control is still having problems operating or it does not switch on your decoder, then you will need to continue the procedure to re-pair it :

  1. Turn on your TV screen.
  2. Switch off your decoder by pressing the button On Off in the back.
  3. Hold down the buttons " Up arrow " and " Returns » button on your remote control for about ten seconds, until the light goes out briefly.
  4. Wait 2 minutes then turn your decoder back onr UHD TV or UHD TV 4.
  5. Press the key Power of your Orange remote control. The message Remote control pairing should appear on the TV screen.
  6. If it's not the case, press the orange stop on the back of your decoder. Press the Power key again if the message does not appear.
  7. If the pairing of your remote control does not start, repeat the procedure until it works. Do not hesitate to start again 2-3 times.
  8. Once the procedure has started and when the screen tells you to, press the key. OK on your remote control to confirm pairing with your decoder.

Your Orange remote control is now reset and synchronized with your decoder! If the procedure did not work, you will certainly need to call Orange after-sales service.

Resetting the Orange TV remote control

For proceed to resetting the Orange TV UHD remote control to the TV decoder 4, Here is the procedure to follow :

  1. On the back of the Orange remote control, press the little button with a pointed object (toothpick, tip of a pen etc) to open the battery compartment.
  2. Remove the batteries on the remote control.
  3. Press several times and for about ten seconds on any button on the remote control. This allows its components to be electrically drained.
  4. Reinsert the same batteries. A few seconds after inserting the first battery, you should see the orange LED on the remote blink twice. If that doesn't happen, then replace the old batteries with new CR2032 batteries.

If your remote control does not start your decoder after this procedure reset, you will then have to re-pair to the decoder by proceeding as follows:

  1. Turn on your TV screen.
  2. Press for 6 seconds up arrow and back key of the remote control. If the pairing screen appears, follow the onscreen instructions.
  3. If pairing still does not start, restart your decoder with the button On Off located on the side.
  4. Briefly press the " Pairing » on the back of the TV 4 decoder.
  5. Wait about thirty seconds.
  6. When prompted on the screen, press the power button on your remote.
  7. If nothing happens, repeat several times, until the screen displays the pairing message.
  8. When the procedure starts and the screen indicates it to you, confirm the pairing by pressing the button OK on the remote control.

Your Orange remote should now be reset and connected to the decoder again. If it didn't work, unfortunately you will have to ask for the replacement of the Orange remote control.

What to do if the Orange remote control reset procedure does not work?

  1. Hello, I was watching TV and my baby took control of the TV and suddenly started pressing it, the TV went off then on but the screen was totally black although we could hear it. What can I do. Thank you

      If you hear the sound, either you have activated a feature on your television that turns off the screen and in this case you just have to consult the user guide for your TV to reactivate the screen; or there is a problem with the backlight. In the latter case, it has nothing to do with the remote control. Indeed, a backlight failure can occur overnight, without warning. Unfortunately, if the problem comes from the backlight, the breakdown will be costly since the panel or the LED strip must be replaced and this manipulation is delicate.

      We invite you first to look at the manual or to reset your TV if you cannot find any information about disabling the screen. And if nothing works, then unfortunately you will have to contact a repairer near you to tell you if the breakdown is repairable or not. Cordially
