My CookEasy + is no longer heating up, what should I do?

When we invest in a food processor, we expect it to save us time. So when it no longer works properly, you can quickly become annoyed by the situation. Among commonly encountered problems, we find a CookEasy + that no longer heats up. Several causes can be responsible for this failure. These could be incorrect settings, a temporary software bug, and more often than not, a hardware or electrical failure. Unfortunately, you will most likely need to bring in a professional for its repair. But some tips that everyone can use can sometimes solve the problem. Find out now.

First checks when your CookEasy + does not heat up

When your Kenwood CookEasy + food processor decides to stop heating overnight, some basic checks on your use and your settings can sometimes solve the problem:

  • Check that you have correctly installed the flat bottom accessory at the bottom of the bowl. This accessory is designed for cooking up to 180 ° C.
  • For some recipes, the bowl cover is essential. If you are using the steam cooking function, check that you have positioned the baskets correctly and that you have added enough water for the pressure to build up. Check that you have correctly installed and engaged the bowl on its base. If the connectors are not properly positioned, the safety will not allow the bowl to heat up.
  • Make sure you have programmed the temperature and cooking time.
  • Check that the underside of the bowl is clean and not cluttered. Indeed, if dirt, crumbs, fatty deposits or a mass of dust invade the connectors of the bowl, the connections may not be made correctly. As a result, the resistance or the temperature probe may no longer function properly. To clean the connectors, use a soft cloth or dry absorbent cloth. If you have the impression that the hole is really dirty, and that it is particularly covered with grease, you can clean it with a "contact cleaning spray" suitable for electronic and electrical devices.
  • Electrically restart your CookEasy + which no longer heats up to remove a possible software bug. To do this, turn off the food processor, unplug its power cable, wait 2 minutes, reconnect its power cable. Then try to start cooking again. If the device still refuses to heat, then the failure is most likely of material origin.

When your CookEasy + no longer heats up, there is a very high probability that a component is defective. here is parts likely to have broken down :

You can try to contact a Kenwood Authorized Repair Center to ask if they have a bowl available to test your plinth.

The following parts are present in the engine block and therefore require advanced knowledge of electronics because there is a risk of electrocution and / or damage to the device. In addition, be aware that if your CookEasy + which does not heat up is under warranty, disassembling the appliance will lose your rights. One more reason to call in a professional repairer. As an indication, here are the potentially faulty components in the engine block:

  • la temperature sensor . This part measures the temperature of the bowl in order to maintain the correct temperature inside the bowl. Thus, it prevents, among other things, any overheating.
  • la power card. This electronic card is in a way the brain of the CookEasy +. It controls all the components of the device such as the probes or the resistance. If the information is not transmitted from the power card to the heating elements, the CookEasy + does not heat.
