Water level problem on my Cookeo, what to do?

For your Cookeo to function properly, a certain level of water is necessary. This is why it is important to check that you have respected the proportions for each recipe. However, if you have followed the preparation steps and tips correctly and still encounter a water level problem on your Cookeo, a malfunction may be the cause. Then find out the causes who may be responsible for this problem and the solutions to resolve it in this article.

Why does my Cookeo indicate that there is a problem with the water level?

Personalized sensors are used to determine if the water level on your Cookeo is sufficient to function properly. It is not necessary not that the water level is too high for avoid overflow, but it is not necessary not that the water level is too low either so that the device can build up pressure. When your Cookeo detects that the water level is not compliant, it will indicate this to you either by a message on the screen, or by the code 21 or code 24 if you are using the fast cooking mode.

In most cases, all you need to do is put water back (or remove it if the level is too high) to resolve the problem. Note that with pressurized mode, you will need to put minimum 200ml of water in the tank. If you do not want to add water or if the error code has not disappeared, you can try to mix the preparation so that the food stuck to the bottom of the bowl comes off. Indeed, these stuck foods can incorrectly indicate to the probe that the tank is lacking water.

Also be aware that if by following the instructions the problem persists, the problem can then come from a software or hardware bug on your Cookeo. In this case, follow the steps below to try to solve the water level problem on your own.

How do I resolve the water level problem on my Cookeo?

As we have just seen, if the water level in your Cookeo is too low, you will simply need to add more to reach at least 200ml. If the water level is too high, remove some to avoid overflowing. If the problem persists even though the water level seems to correspond to the measurements, carry out the manipulations below.

Water level problem on my Cookeo, what to do?

Electrically restart the Cookeo

At first, it may be thata software bug is the cause of the water level problem on your Cookeo. Indeed, small malfunctions can occur during your use and be recorded in the memory of the device. Over time, this may turn into a widespread bug. To remedy this, a simple electrical restart sometimes fixes the problem. This restart will completely power down the computer system until the errors are cleared from the device memory.

To restart your Cookeo electrically, nothing could be simpler:

  1. Switch off the device
  2. Unplug the power cord from the outlet
  3. Wait about 2 minutes
  4. Reconnect the device to the power source

If the procedure did not work, then the problem is due to a hardware failure. In this case, an internal component is faulty and it will then have to be replaced to resolve the problem.

Clean the Cookeo lid

The water level detection problem can also come from a clogged cover which sends bad information to the probe.

Then proceed to clean the cover, particularly the reflector. This metal component is located inside the cover and can be removed by unscrewing the nut in the center. Once the reflector is removed, examine it to remove any food residue that may be clinging to it.

It is also advisable to dismantle the flange in order to have access to the valves. Remove the ball holder located at the rear and clean these parts if they are dirty.

Finally, make sure that the valves, placed on either side of the ball, are functioning properly and are not blocked by food debris. For thorough cleaning, using a toothpick can be effective in dislodging small pieces stuck inside the valves.
