When your Freebox encounters a technical problem or no longer turns on at all, resetting can sometimes revive it. Indeed, reinitializing a Freebox is a procedure which makes it possible to remove any bugs and software malfunctions which prevent the box from functioning correctly. Resetting the Freebox occurs when the restart procedure (also called Reboot) has not made it possible to regain full functional use of your Freebox. The reset therefore works by restoring the factory settings. Depending on the model of your box, the procedure may be different. So find out how to reset your Freebox?
Reset a Freebox Server
Whether you own a Freebox Mini 4K, Revolution, Pop ou Delta, the procedure for reinitializing the Freebox Server is identical. Know first that for reset a Freebox Server, it exists three starting levels :
- normal start. This startup corresponds to a normal restart without deleting your data and settings.
- emergency start. This start corresponds to a "safe" restart of the box. It optimizes the start of the Server by disabling certain functions of the box which will be reactivated once the box is functional.
- Factory settings. This start corresponds to the "Reset" function of the Freebox. This boot option resets the factory settings and therefore deletes all your custom settings.
First perform a hard start of the box to avoid losing your data. If your Freebox no longer turns on at all or the bugs are not resolved, it will probably be necessary to start in “Factory Settings” mode.
To access the start-up mode and therefore to reset the Freebox, do the following:
- Unplug your Free box from the electrical outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds then reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
- Wait a few seconds while the Free logo appears.
- When the logo is displayed, touch screen to access the three starting levels.
- Click on Factory settings et validity your choice.

Reset a Freebox Player
For reset a Freebox Player that encounters malfunctions, proceed as follows:
- Unplug the Freebox Player of its power supply
- Hold down the little button which is located on the front for the Mini 4K, on the back for the Revolution and the Delta and on the side for the Pop and simultaneously reconnect the box to the power outlet. a orange light should start blinking.
- Un android logo and a menu should then display on the screen. If the menu does not appear automatically, click once on the small button.
- Go to the option " Clear user data / factory reset »By pressing the small button several times then press it again for about ten seconds to validate your choice.
- Finish from to confirm your choice by going to the line " Yes And by long pressing the small button.
After that, the reset of your Freebox Player should start and take a few minutes. When finished, click To restart to restart your Freebox. If this is not done automatically, resynchronize the remote with the decoder.
